1983. The time of the beginning upheaval behind the "Iron Curtain", the time of "Solidarnosc".
Klaus Schulze is one of the few West German musicians allowed to go on a celebrated tour in
Poland. As a purely instrumental artist, the regime considered him relatively unobjectionable.
But Klaus Schulze never missed an opportunity to show his solidarity with the protesting
population. Many of the people who attended his concerts at the time were in the new Polish
governments after the political changes.
The latter then invited him to give a concert in the courtyard of the Royal Castle in Warsaw on
September 17, 2009, the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland.
Together with 'Lisa Gerrard', the celebrated exceptional artist and singer with "Dead Can
Dance", Klaus Schulze delivered an intense performance in front of an impressive backdrop.
This concert in Warsaw is the focus of "Big in Europe, Vol. 1", a series of 3 products that will
reflect the entire 2009 European tour with more concerts in Berlin and Amsterdam .
